Lisa D. Haba is a licensed attorney in the state of Florida.  She is a partner in The Haba Law Firm.

Mrs. Haba spent seven years as an Assistant State Attorney in Seminole County, where she prosecuted human trafficking, sex crimes, child abuse, homicides, career criminals and violent crimes.  At the time she left this position, Mrs. Haba had tried over 75 jury trials, leaving her with extensive trial experience and a high rate of success.  Mrs. Haba tried the first human trafficking trial to occur in Seminole County and won, securing justice for the victim and a lengthy prison sentence for the trafficker.  She has presented trainings statewide on the prosecution of human  traffickers and how citizens can recognize the warning signs.

Mrs. Haba serves as the co-chair to the Seminole County Human Trafficking Task Force, has

worked with numerous non-profits that offer services to human trafficking survivors, and has lobbied and assisted in changing human trafficking laws to benefit survivors and hold those responsible accountable.  Mrs. Haba  has begun working with The Haba Law Firm where she now brings lawsuits against individuals and entities that perpetuate victimization, abuse, and human trafficking.


Mrs. Haba has also been doing immigration law for several years and has a broad experience securing legal status or visas for  students, crime victims, workers, asylees/refugees, spouses, fiances, and visitors/tourists.


Mrs. Haba has received several awards for her legal advocacy.  In 2017, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi named her Prosecutor of the Year for the State of Florida for Human Trafficking prosecution.   In 2016, she received the Polaris Star Award for exceptional legal advocacy in human trafficking from the Greater Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force.  In 2015, she was awarded the National Crime Victim's Rights Week Attorney of the Year, from the State Attorney's Office, as well as Pride in Excellence Attorney of the Year from the State Attorney's Office.  In 2014, Mrs. Haba was awarded the Young Lawyer Pro Bono Service Award from the Seminole County Legal Aide Society.  In addition, she has been named a "Legal Elite" Attorney by Florida Trend Magazine from 2013 - 2017, an award based on peer review in the legal community.


Mrs. Haba received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Syracuse University where she dual-majored in Policy Studies and Economics and graduated cum laude.  She then went on to attend Ave Maria School of Law on a Board of Governor’s Scholarship and received her Juris Doctorate.  Mrs. Haba was the Moot Court Board President her third year of law school and won the Regional Championship for trial advocacy in the Texas Young Lawyer’s National Trial Competition.


Mrs. Haba is on the Seminole County Legal Aide Society Board of Directors, a member of the Seminole County Bar Association, and a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
